PlainsCapital Bank Names Frank Hastings Coastal Bend Region Chairman

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (June 1, 2020) — PlainsCapital Bank announced the recent promotion of Frank Hastings to Coastal Bend region chairman. Hastings succeeds Gary Wilson, who oversaw the Bank’s efforts in the region and retired on May 31, 2020, after six years of service.

Hastings will oversee and coordinate market development and management for the Coastal Bend region. He will also focus on building and maintaining key business relationships with local government officials, civic leaders, business leaders, and retail and commercial clients.

“For the past seven years, Frank’s leadership as market president has played a big part in our success in the Coastal Bend,” said PlainsCapital Bank President and CEO Jerry Schaffner. “As region chairman, he’ll play an integral role in executing on the Bank’s long-term growth strategies and reinforcing our position as a strong and stable relationship-based bank.”

Hastings has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. Prior to his promotion, Hastings oversaw day-to-day commercial and retail banking operations in Corpus Christi.

Frank Hastings is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M—Corpus Christi and an associate’s degree from Del Mar College. Hastings is active in the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Alumni Association, the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association, and serves as a member of the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Business Advisory Council. He previously served as board member and president of the Coastal Bend Food Bank and as board treasurer of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Foundation.
