PlainsCapital Bank Contributes to South Plains COVID-19 Response Fund to Aid Local Nonprofits
LUBBOCK, TX (April 8, 2020) – PlainsCapital Bank—together with 19 other Lubbock banks—recently raised a total of $343,000 for the South Plains COVID-19 Response Fund to help support nonprofits in West Texas that are tackling the effects of COVID-19.
“Many nonprofits in Lubbock are facing even more pressure as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, which is why PlainsCapital Bank has contributed to the South Plains COVID-19 Response Fund,” said Lubbock Market President Barry Ballinger. “Our donation will help local nonprofits continue to provide much-needed services to our communities.”
The fund was formed in partnership between the Community Foundation of West Texas and the Lubbock Area United Way. It will help provide resources to nonprofits serving local populations that have been impacted by COVID-19 and its economic consequences.
“Our local banks have shown us that it is possible to work together for the common good of our citizens. We truly are all in this together, and we are grateful for the leadership the banking community has shown,” said Steve Warren, president of the Community Foundation of West Texas.
