What is Debit Card Compromise?
Debit card compromise occurs when there is an illegal data intrusion into the computer network of a payment system that processes card payments on behalf of merchants. When this happens, PlainsCapital Bank receives notification from the payment processing network (such as Visa® or Mastercard®) that the data compromise may have resulted in the theft of some of our customers’ debit card numbers. These intrusions can affect merchants or payment card processors who process card transactions on behalf of merchants.
