COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
............Our Commitment
to Community
At PlainsCapital Bank, we’re proud of the role we play in contributing to the vitality and quality of life in the communities we serve across Texas. Community involvement for us goes well beyond our mission to be the financial services leaders and bank of choice in the markets we serve. It is an inherent part of our culture.
Since our founding in 1988, we have maintained a rich history of supporting our communities through a combination of executive leadership, employee engagement, volunteerism, sponsorships, and, of course, giving.
Together with our employees, PlainsCapital supports hundreds of organizations and causes throughout the state seeking to strengthen our communities’ families, support local economic growth, and enhance educational opportunities.
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is important to PlainsCapital, especially when it comes to young people. We are focused on preparing students for jobs, college, and beyond.
In addition to our ongoing efforts supporting schools and organizations across the state, PlainsCapital made a significant investment in Texas education in 2013, partnering with the Texas Council on Economic Education (TCEE) to develop a targeted financial literacy curriculum for seventh- and eighth-grade students.
The curriculum, funded by PlainsCapital Bank, covers topics such as saving, budgeting, credit, taxes, loans, interest, and financial responsibility.
Financial literacy education is mandatory for all students in the state of Texas. PlainsCapital’s continued funding support ensures that the TCEE education curriculum is provided free of charge to teachers in the state of Texas so they can teach these principles in their own classrooms, as well as to organizations that provide educational programs for underserved students in the markets where we do business.
